OUR HISTORY
Founded and managed by technology industry veterans with over 25 years of history together, acting as executives and investors. Oria originates its own transactions through the founders' reputation and deep industry knowledge.

The relationship between the founding partners began in 1990, when both worked as executives of Datasul SA, actively participating in the implementation of the innovative franchise model that enabled the company to scale and execute its IPO in 2006. With vast experience in the technology sector and passing through the greatest challenges that an entrepreneur in this field must go through in order to consolidate himself, Jorge Steffens and Paulo Caputo founded Oria Capital in 2009, in order to actively help entrepreneurs who wish to become market leaders.

Our team has participated and led more than 40 transactions in the technology sector, including IPOs, M&As and Follow-Ons, handling more than 2 billion reais in Latin America. Our funds have already invested more than 450 million reais in 17 growth stage Software as a Service companies.

EXPERIENCED PARTNERSHIP
Paulo Caputo
Oria's Founding Partner, Paulo was CFO of Datasul SA from 1999 to 2001 and responsible for the company's new business from 2001 to 2003 and COO until the IPO in 2006. After the IPO, he was responsible for the area that invested IPO resources in 9 acquisitions. He was also chairman of the board of Bematech SA from 2013 to 2016 and was a member of the Board of Directors of TOTVS SA, where he was also a member of the Audit and People committees until 2020. Paulo holds a bachelor's degree in Law from Universidade de São Paulo and is a specialist in Business Management and Internationalization from INPG/Fundação Dom Cabral. Paulo is also a board member of CSU Cardsystem and certified by the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance (IBGC).
Jorge Steffens
Oria's Founding Partner, Jorge was CEO of Datasul SA from 2003 to 2008, leading the company's IPO process and serving as Executive Director of TOTVS. He was also founder and Director of Integrations and Systems of Neogrid Software SA. Jorge holds a degree in Information Technology from the Regional University of Blumenau, and post-graduation degrees in Marketing from FGV and Industrial Engineering from the State University of Santa Catarina. He also has a specialization in Management from Stanford University and an APICS (CPIM) certificate.
Carlos Testolini
Oria's Senior Partner since 2015, Carlos was CEO of Sonda TI from 2007 to 2015 and a member of the board of directors between 2016 and 2018. He was also an Executive Director of Procwork Informática Ltda from 1977 until its sale to Sonda TI in 2007. Previously, he was an Executive Director of IBM, SSA and BOSCH. Carlos holds a degree in Information Technology from Pontifícia Universidade Católica, an MBA in Marketing Services from Universidade de São Paulo, a specialization in Private Equity and Venture Capital from Harvard Business School, and an Advanced Management degree from Kellogg School of Management - Northwestern University.
Piero Rosatelli
Oria's Managingg Partner since 2011, Piero joined the firm before the Fund I launch, handling both Fund I and Fund II investments. He started his investment career in the technology sector ten years before, being involved in more than 20 transactions in the sector. Previously, he also had experience in Investment Banking and in financial and strategic planning at C&A. Piero holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Insper.
Bárbara Alvim
Bárbara Alvim is a Partner Associate & Equity Partner at Oria since 2018. From 2016 to 2018, she worked as a project developer for retail credit and fintech innovation at Captalys. From 2010 to 2015, Bárbara was Managing Partner of Trindade Investimentos, Venture Capital and Distressed Assets, and was responsible for analysis and investments in technology start-ups. Bárbara holds a bachelor's degree and a specialization in M&A from FGV - Fundação Getúlio Vargas.

Piero joined Oria Capital in 2011, prior to the launch of its first fund, and has since been involved in building and expanding the firm across all investment and business fronts. He has participated in over 20 technology sector transactions, including investments, portfolio acquisitions, exits, and a NASDAQ IPO. He also worked in Investment Banking and in financial and strategic planning at retailer C&A. Piero holds both a Bachelor's and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Insper.
Bárbara Alvim
Bárbara joined Oria in 2018 and heads the Investment and Portfolio Management teams while also serving as the firm’s ESG Officer. She has significantly contributed to the value creation of over 20 tech business. Prior to her current role, from 2016 to 2018, she worked on Credit-as-a-Service unit and debt funding solutions for fintechs at Captalys. Between 2010 and 2015, she was active in venture capital, leading early-stage investments and performing turnaround executive roles. Bárbara holds both a Bachelor’s degree and a specialization in M&A from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) and is a CFA Institute certificate holder in Sustainable Investing.
Luciana Trindade
Luciana joined Oria in 2018, where she leads Fundraising and Investor Relations while also acting as the firm’s Compliance Officer. With over a decade of experience in corporate law, M&A, and private equity, she has advised local and international clients on various transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures, primarily during her time at Cescon, Barrieu, Flesch & Barreto Advogados. Luciana holds a Law degree from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, a Master’s in Law and Economics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and a specialization in Compliance from Insper.
João Vitor Porsani
João kicked off his career at Oria as an intern in 2020 and ascended to the role of Associate Partner. He has gained extensive experience working across all business areas of the firm and is currently a vital part of the Investment and Value Creation teams.
Karina Sanches
Karina joined Oria in 2022, leading the firm’s corporate operations alongside its Middle and Back Office areas. From 2018 to 2020, she was instrumental in establishing Torq Ventures, the investment arm of Sinqia, where she worked for 20 years. During her time there, she played a key role in the M&A and integration of over nine companies within the group. Karina holds a degree in Information Systems, a postgraduate degree in Controllership, and has completed executive education in Digital Business, alongside the Executive Leadership Program at Fundação Dom Cabral.
Jonata Julian
Jonata embarked on his professional journey at Oria as an intern in 2021, quickly rising to become a Senior Analyst. He is currently an integral member of the Investment and Value Creation teams.
